It is no secret that PEX plumbing are probably one of the most durable and versatile materials available today. They can withstand extreme temperatures and conditions and have a degree of strength that is unparalleled. To connect such PEX fittings just follow these steps below.
Cut out the PEX plumbing to the necessary length. Use the pipe cutter for PEX clamping for this purpose.
You need to sand out the edges lightly using emery paper. This will help to eliminate rough spots or burrs.
Place the crimp ring on the cut portion of the PEX plumbing. This ring tightens instantly to seal up the joint.
Place the barbed portion of the PEX fitting into the end of the pipe until you find the cut edge resting neatly along the fitting.
Place the PEX crimp tools to around a quarter or one-eighth inch from the pipe end and make a slight pinch to ensure it stays put.
Center the crimping tool on the ring. Use forceful and even pressure to crimp off the ring over the PEX pipe.
Use a gauge to test out the final connection. Use the appropriate notch and if the fit is clean, the crimp was correct!
