Expansion tank

How use membrane tank?

More economical operation is achieved when the pump fitted with pressurized tank (expansion tank). It is a metal tank, divided into two cavity volume (in the form of bag) or a flat elastic membrane. One part of the Amtrol expansion tank is directly connected to the piped network, the other filled with air or nitrogen. When the pump is pumping water into the first chamber, located in the second cavity of the gas is compressed. It lasts as long as the system pressure reaches a preset value. (Where can an expansion tank be installed?) At the beginning of parsing the compressed gas pushes the water in the system, the pressure in the Extrol expansion tank decreases and the relay again includes a pump. As a rule, automatic tuning so that the “water” cavity pressure tank was always filled with at least one-third. Typically, such units are equipped with membrane tanks with a capacity 24-50 liters. In this case, for example, for the model Extrol (Firm Amtrol) with a tank of 24 liters a useful supply of water is 10 liters. Thus, there is no need to run the pump each time the user opens the tap.

Currently, many manufacturers produce compact plants with pressurized tanks. Equipment can be purchased and “loose. In contrast to the open containers membrane tanks are not necessarily mounted in the highest point of the system, and their sizes are not so great. Drinking water should be used pressure tanks with sanitary certificate.

In some cases (for example, when water is periodically), it makes sense to use in conjunction with the installation of conventional pumping water tank. In this case, the capacity can be installed in the basement. In the tank builds up water reserves, and its starting point in parsing exercises pump (you can – with hydraulic accumulators). There is no need to use the self-priming device; better to use the normal installation of the pump suction, operating more quietly.

Expansion tanks for radiant heating systems

Initial position of the entire volume of the Extrol 30 is filled with gas. The Expansion tank under the influence of air pressure is pressed to the inner surface of the tank. As the temperature in the fluid volume increases, pressure increases, and the coolant enters the expansion tank, squeezing the Expansion tanks. At the same time the air in the opposite chamber pot shrinks. The disadvantage of this design is its inability to replace the Expansion tank if it is the gap or high water permeability. However, in the heating systems in their normal operation, the maximum expansion of the liquid occurs only at the time of launch. In other cases, the pressure varies smoothly, without major shocks and vibrations. Consequently, in the tanks are quite long. You only need to pre-season heating check the air pressure in the tank.
